Does pet insurance pay vets directly?
)
Some pet insurers can pay your vet directly, but it depends on your provider. Napo is able to pay vets directly when you make a claim.
Your vet can also make claims on your behalf too using our
vet portal. Ask your vet if they would be happy to try this.
Pet insurance can pay your vet directly, depending on your vet
Napo pet insurance can pay your vet directly. However, whether a vet will take direct payment depends on your vet and how they choose to handle payments.
Some vets will allow us to pay them, so you won’t need to pay for your vet fees upfront.
Even if we pay your vets. you might be asked by your vet to pay your excess upfront. (We offer a low excess of only £75 per condition, per year.) Meanwhile, other vets will allow you to settle the excess later.
Meanwhile, other vets will ask for all payments upfront from the owner. You can then send us your claim, and we’ll refund you the costs, (minus your excess.) If you would prefer us to pay you rather than your vet, we can.
So in short, Napo pet insurance can pay direct to your vets, but you’ll need to ask your vet if they accept direct payments.

What our customers think about Napo
Frequently asked questions about direct vet payments
Which pet insurance pays the vet directly?
There are many pet insurance companies that pay vets directly. Napo included! We can provide cat insurance and dog insurance that pays vets directly.
However, not all vets will accept direct payments from insurers.
If you’d like us to pay your vet directly, be sure to ask your vet if they’ll accept direct payments. You can also ask if they can use our
vet portal, so they can claim on your behalf.
Vet portal claims are an average of 3x faster than traditional claims. Plus, there’s no forms for you to fill in, you just need to give your vet your Napo policy number.
That means you can rest assured that we’ll pay your vet directly, and you can focus on helping your pet feel better.
Does Napo pet insurance pay direct to vet?
We’re happy to pay either you or your vet. Although it’s entirely up to the vet’s discretion how they prefer to receive payment.
If you want us to pay your vets directly, please ask your vet if they’re happy to take direct payments. If they are, we can arrange to send all payments straight to them.
What pet insurance do most vets accept?
Most vets will accept most pet insurance companies.
However, depending on their individual experience or preference, a vet may decide that they won’t accept direct payments from a certain insurer. It’s very individual, and varies between cases too.
For example, they might accept direct payments for smaller claims, but not larger ones.
If you want to know if your vet accepts direct pet insurance payments, it’s best to ask. And if they’re happy to take direct payments, we can send it straight to them.
Does pet insurance pay everything?
It depends on your provider and the kind of pet insurance cover you have bought. The more comprehensive your policy, and the higher your cover limit, the more your insurer will pay for.
The kind of policy you buy can also affect whether your pet insurer will pay for conditions for their duration, or just for a set time limit.
Here at Napo, we only offer comprehensive, lifetime cover. That means as long as your policy is active, we’ll always cover any conditions your pet develops while insured with us.
Our insurance is also super comprehensive so we will pay for a lot, including things like dental and travel cover, as well as up to £16000 in vet fee cover.
