No Medical Inner Limits

So you won’t get caught out.
More basic policies exclude important stuff through limited coverage with ‘inner limits’ (aka, a cap on specific conditions) on things like diagnostics, accidents and illness. Thankfully, we prefer to be inclusive, as standard.

High Cover

So you won’t be out of pocket.
Our highest cover is £16k, so we cover you for the big stuff. With speedy claims and the option to pay directly to your vet, there’s also no slow reimbursement process to worry about with us.

Lifetime Cover

So you’re protected for life.
With lifetime cover, your pup is insured for even ongoing and chronic conditions for as long as they live, for as long as you renew your annual policy. (No time limits or ‘accident-only’ cover around here.)

Expect extra (as standard)

Some insurers try selling these as add-ons. But at Napo, they're all just part of your monthly premium.

Accident and illness

Tests, surgeries, hospitalisation, medication… when we say we cover vet treatment, we mean it. (And naturally, it’s only the best.)

Why is Napo different?

We don’t want to make money by wriggling out of claims. Instead, we want to prevent vet bills in the first place by giving you free access to some of the best pet care services, so that your pet stays happy and healthy. In fact, we’re so confident, we offer a comprehensive policy and a low £99 excess you only pay once a year, per condition claimed.

Can Napo pay my vet directly?

Yes. We can pay you or the vets, whichever you prefer. If you want us to pay your vets directly, it's up to the vet practice whether they would be happy to do this.

Can I speak to someone over the phone?

Yes, you can chat with us over the phone using our callback service. To book a call, tell us what you'd like to talk about in a chat or email to us. So we can help you as best we can on the call, please give as much detail about your query as you can in your message. Then one of our customer champions will send you a calendar where you can book a call at a time that suits you. 😊

Does Napo do multipet discounts?

Yes, Napo offers 5% multipet discount when you insure more than one pet with us. To get your multipet discount, just get a quote and add another pet during the quote.

How can the excess be only £99 per year?

High excesses make claiming difficult and stressful. Insurers set them high to avoid paying up. We want to make claiming as stress-free as possible.
We don’t need to wriggle out of paying when you need us the most. The low £99 excess is our proof to you that we mean it.
We know claiming always comes at tough times, and think our free pet services will help you to prevent the need to claim in the first place.

How does Napo make money?

We earn a commission from your monthly payments, which we use to fund our free pet services and pay our small team. The rest of your payments are pooled and used to pay out claims.
If the amount we’ve got pooled is ever less than the amount we need to pay out in claims, don’t worry. We’ve got what’s called an ‘underwriter’ who will keep paying out claims so we’ll never go back on our word in our policy.

Why do I need pet insurance?

Illnesses, dental work, behavioural treatment, even ‘missing pet’ rewards... The costs of a pet over its lifetime can stack up.
For example, if you own a medium dog, the PDSA estimates you’ll pay between £7,500 - £11,800 over their lifetime. Unless you have insurance.

Will my policy price increase if I claim?

Some insurers boast they’ve got “no penalty for claiming” but they don’t show you their fineprint. Here’s the truth...
Pet insurance policies, including Napo’s, go up each year as your pet gets older and less healthy.
When you claim, this also affects your premium. The increase will depend on the type of claim you make. For isolated accidents, the increase in premiums will likely be lower when compared to if you claim for something that might lead to long-term consequences like heart issues or diabetes.
